Young Statistician Night

Young Statisticians and Statisticians who are young at heart are welcome to join us for this event at the Illawarra Brewery. The night is an opportunity for like-minded early career Statisticians and Students to exchange ideas and network while enjoying beverages, light dinner and music. The cost is included in the registration fee for students and those wishing to attend. Registration to be completed through the registration process.

Social Tour Activities

All delegates and guests are invited by Destination Wollongong to attend any of the following tours scheduled for Wednesday 5 July 2017.

Grand Pacific Drive Scenic Wildlife Tour – 6 hour tour - $103 per person


The Grand Pacific Drive encompasses 140km of some of NSW’s most spectacular scenery and coastline.

Depart Wollongong and travel to the Sea Cliff Bridge via the Grand Pacific Drive. The bridge is an impressive 665 metre bridge that hangs out over the ocean. The bridge offers a safe pedestrian walkway over the entire length of the bridge and a fantastic viewing point over the ocean.

Arrive at Bald Hill lookout. Take in the spectacular view from Bald Hill Lookout and watch the hang gliders or para‐gliders take off from this point (weather/wind dependent). Located at Bald Hill is the Lawrence Hargrave Memorial; dedicated to the Australia’s pioneer of flight and Australia’s greatest contributor to the early science of Aeronautics.

Arrive at Symbio Zoo Wildlife Park. Symbio Zoo allows unparalleled opportunities for close encounters with some of Australia’s native wildlife and other animals from around the globe. Pat a koala and hand feed the kangaroos –guests are welcome to take their own photos free of charge.

Arrive at Sublime Point Bulli Tops – Lunch stop. Sublime Point Lookout doesn’t disappoint, providing the best vantage point in the Illawarra. Sublime point delivers 180 dress views of Wollongong and it’s surrounds, capturing the beauty of the rainforest and the dazzle of the ocean.

Return back to Wollongong.

South Coast Eco Whale Watching Tour – Includes a stop at Berry – 8 hour tour– $120 per person


Depart Wollongong along the Grand Pacific Drive. Set out from Huskisson aboard Jervis Bay’s supercat Port Venture. You will be amazed as you experience Jervis Bay’s spectacular foreshores.

Witness the majestic beauty of our migrating Humpback whales. A life changing experience set against rugged cliffs and ancient sea caves.

Enjoy lunch at Portside café Jervis Bay and end the day with optional coffee or wind-down drink in Historic Berry on your way back to Wollongong.

Illawarra Fly and Winery Tour – 6 hour tour – $120 per person


Depart Wollongong for the Southern Highlands.

The award winning Illawarra Fly Treetop Adventures is one of Australia’s premier Treetop Walks.

The 1.5km return walk takes in native rainforest. The steel walkway features two gently swaying cantilevered arms and a central tower raised nearly 50 metres from the forest floor. Positioned 710 metres above sea level, the stunning panoramic views take in everything from the rainforest canopy, coastal towns and out to the Pacific Ocean.

Enjoy high tea and wine tasting at a nearby Southern Highlands Winery.

Return to Wollongong.
